General description
Reddish brown in colour, very durable and with low shrink properties. Suitable to be used either green or air dried. The weight is about 800 kg/m3. Due to wide growing area, there are big differences in quality and properties. Afzelia bipindenses, with yellow chaulk originates from the Camerouns, commonly known as Doussié, is considered the best amongst the Afzelia species.

Joinery, doors, flooring, bicycle courts

Limited availability. The species are related to Merbau.
