General description
Cedro is very easy to work with being light in weight (about 500 kg/m3) and durable (Class 2) It has a nice reddish brown colour with an open structure. Characteristics are the gum pockets which are in fact concentrations of oil. Cedro should not be confused with the coniferous Cedar species. Often referred to as “Cigarbox wood” The oil in the wood has a nice smell and also adds to the quality of the cigars. Good cigars are often sold in boxes made out of Cedro.
Main uses
In addition to the aforementioned applications, it is also suitable for cladding, joinery, doors, windows and carvings.
