The east coast of North America and Europe.

General description
The deep red coloured heartwood is clearly distinguished from the white to yellowish sapwood. The wood is normally straight grained with a fine texture. The weight is about 600 kg/m3. Cherry is easy to work with. Often contains black gum pockets.

Main uses
Furniture, carpentry and flooring.

Remark
The main source of supply is from the USA.
